Now in its ninth year, the 2009 Tiny Miracles Fundraising events, sponsored by Metropolitan Homes, have been a huge success! Donors dug deep to support an amazing cause and be a part of three incredible events. The 2009 donation totaled over $230,000, bringing total donations to The Children’s Hospital to $6.5 million.
The series of three events kicked off with a sold-out Italian style dinner. Tickets were available for $150 a seat and the 5-course meal was prepared by Chef and Metropolitan Homes CEO, Peter Kudla. Guests were treated to an incredible evening of fine wine, Italian music and amazing food.
Kudla quickly shifted gears for the ‘Crane Man’ event the next day where he hung from a crane for 12-hours, raising $50,000 as a part of the donation to the hospital. Dressed as Captain America, Kudla was sprayed by a firehouse and hit with water balloons as he entertained the crowd below.
These events led to the grand finale, The Feast and 5K on August 30, 2009. The run/walk and street festival was hosted by the Vallagio neighborhood, located at Dry Creek and Inverness Drive West. More than 2,050 people joined the festivities which included more than 30 street vendors and a children’s play land. Previously voted Best of the Best Post Race Food by Competitor Magazine, the street festival drew not only 5k participants but individuals and families who came just for the festivities.
