As a contemporary country artist, Lee Ann Womack is widely known for her talented songwriting, pop-influenced style and nuanced, straight-from-the-heart vocal styling.

Texas born, Lee Ann says she was drawn to country music influences like Tammy Wynette and George Jones from an early age. She went on to study music and the music business before settling in Nashville, where she released her first album in 1997. Her debut led to several additional albums and collaborations with a variety of well-known country artists including Rick Skaggs, Willie Nelson and Keith Urban, with whom she sings a mesmerizing duet on her recent 2008 release, Call Me Crazy.

Lee Ann’s country/pop crossover hit, I Hope You Dance, reached the top of the country music charts. She has received five Academy of Country Music Awards, five Country Music Association Awards and two Grammy Awards for her work.
